HOW TO GET (OR FAKE) BRIGHT EYES WITH MAKEUP
Call them fresh, awake, luminous, or exquisitely high-impact: big, bright eyes are an undeniably attractive, go-with-everything must for your look. Luminous eyes are always in style! And while they remain a perfect complement towards creating a well-rounded glowing canvas, a supercharged stare can also hide a multitude of sins. Whether it’s from a bit of over-indulgence, or simply late nights exploring your social life, if you’re looking more bleary-eyed not to worry: we’ve got you covered! Watch as we lead you from the land of dull and tired to bright-eyed and bushy tailed in just three easy steps.
Step 1: Prep & prime.
Apply a primer to the eye area. Try using an illuminating concealer under the eyes where you might have puffiness or dark circles, and then curl lashes for a quick pick-me-up. If you’re tired and need an extra dose of energy (because, life), place concealer on the outer corners of your eyes and blend up toward the end of the eyebrow. The end effect is an instant eye lift that tricks people into thinking you're actually awake.
Step 2: Line time.
Today’s not the day for a smokey smudge, of course. But, it’s also not the time to reach for that white liner you rushed to buy when you first heard about its eye-opening abilities. Turns out, a nude pencil works way better to make your eyes appear larger and more awake, but with the added benefit of a far more natural appearance.
To line your lower waterline, start by looking straight toward the mirror, and tilt your chin down. Then, gently pull down on lower lash line and run the pencil along the waterline starting from the outer corner to the inner corner of the eye.
Step 3: The final flourish.
Sweep a shimmery, illuminating shadow along the brow bones and to the inner corners of the eyes and finish with a coating of mascara for a polished, luminous look.
