The arrival of the Toronto International Film Festival signals the beginning of a long and glamorous awards season, which means many a red-carpet appearance and, by extension, a ton of beauty inspiration! And while we might not all have a pro makeup artist on speed dial (#goals, anyone?), that doesn’t mean we can’t imitate the top starlets. Here are five of our favourite red carpet beauty looks, plus how you can recreate them with products that won’t break the bank.

Who: Selena Gomez

Where: Met Gala 2016

What: The songstress seriously sizzled on the red carpet with sultry lined eyes that perfectly complemented her gown’s daring leather bodice.

The Steal: Joe Fresh Matte Liquid Liner. If you’re going to execute a perfect cat eye like Gomez, you’ll need a precise liquid liner that won’t budge or smudge. The goal here is crisp, clean lines—not raccoon eyes!

Who: Olivia Munn

Where: The Academy Awards 2016

What: Instead of traditional red or nude, Munn opted for an eye-catching shade of orange lippy that sent everyone running for the nearest beauty aisle.

The Steal: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Electric Orange. To nail Munn’s red-carpet look you need a super-saturated colour that’s bold and beautiful.

Who: Zendaya

Where: The Billboard Music Awards 2016

What: Zendaya pleasantly surprised audiences when she turned up on the red carpet rocking a sophisticated smokey eye that she did herself.

The Steal: COVERGIRL truNAKED Eyeshadow Palette in Nudes. For this look it’s all about using various shades of light and dark nude and brown shadows to build smouldering eyes.

Who: Rooney Mara

Where: The Golden Globes 2016

What: Mara’s perfectly shaped arches put an exclamation point on her perfectly dramatic red-carpet beauty look.

The Steal: Quo Brow Wow Powder in Brunette. To mimic Mara’s enviable brows, you need a product like this one that adds natural-looking colour and definition.

Who: Anna Kendrick

Where: Cannes Film Festival 2016

What: Kendrick rocked sultry metallic eyes on the red carpet, but instead of going with a safe nude lip, she stunned with a beautiful berry-toned mouth.

The Steal: L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Gloss in Sangria. To recreate Kendrick’s pout, pick a product like this one that’s perfectly shiny but also packed with pigment.
