How can your pharmacist help you manage your diabetes care?
Your pharmacist and pharmacy team plays a really vital role in diabetes care. Whether you are newly diagnosed, or have been managing diabetes for many years, your pharmacist is here to help. We’re here to recommend the right meter for you and provide meter training in store or even over the phone to ensure that you are getting accurate and appropriate blood glucose readings. We’re now able to provide A1C testing as well right in our store. So, to avoid having to visit a lab to have blood drawn to know what your A1C test is, it gives you a reading over the past three months, we’re able to provide it right in store, provide a test in only five seconds to give you your results. We can then communicate that information to your doctor to ensure the medications that you're taking, whether it's oral medication or insulin, is appropriate for you. We also provide annual diabetes medication reviews to ensure that all of the other medications are up to date, are appropriate, and are working well for you. We can recommend over the counter medications that are compatable, not just with your condition but also with the medications that you’re taking. Your pharmacist is here sometimes twenty four hours a day to answer questions and provide solutions for your diabetes care.
Whether you have questions about your prescription medications, over-the-counter products, immunizations, or other health concerns, our pharmacists are here to help.
