How do I know when to take my medication or how much to take?

Your doctor has prescribed medications to treat your symptoms and to help manage or overcome certain health conditions. Failing to use medications as prescribed can result in worsened health, longer recovery, and unwanted side effects. Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacists will review with you the instructions of how to take your medication upon pickup. Carefully read all the directions on the label and ask your doctor or pharmacist for help and clarification. If you are confused or unsure about how to properly take your medication, on the label you will find the store information, your name, name of the drug, the dose, the direction of how many times to use it, and when. There will also be a drug identification number, doctor name, and date it was filled. On the top corner of your drug label you will see the RX number, which is a seven-digit number that you will need when you want to reorder your medication.

Whether you have questions about your prescription medications, over-the-counter products, immunizations, or other health concerns, our pharmacists are here to help.
