I am experiencing side effects from my medications, how can my pharmacist help?
Pharmacists are medication experts. They can identify potential drug interactions, allergic reactions, or medication side effects and ensure your treatment is safe, effective and appropriate. Your pharmacist will counsel you on what side effects you may expect from the prescribed drug, and will provide you with a patient information sheet for the new drug. If side effects are not tolerated and are affecting your health, interfering with your daily activity, or leading you to stop the treatment, your pharmacist will help to provide strategies and plans to manage side effects, which may include reducing your dose or changing the medication, or consulting with your doctor to find the best alternative for you.
