It’s back to school – kids will be kids and fall colds are inevitable. What measures can parents take to prepare?

As parents, the best thing we can do is discuss prevention and the importance of proper hand hygiene, and staying home if we’re sick. If they do catch the inevitable common cold, you should speak to your pharmacist about the best treatment options. These will vary, depending on the child's age, medical conditions, allergies, other medications they may be taking, and symptoms they are experiencing with this particular cold. A pharmacist would also be able to advise if these symptoms are more than just a common cold and warrant further investigation.

Whether you have questions about your prescription medications, over-the-counter products, immunizations, or other health concerns, our pharmacists and registered dietitians are here to help.
