What do you as a pharmacist say to patients who are hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccination?

With the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine in Canada, we now have the opportunity to slow the spread of the disease, protect our most vulnerable population group from severe disease and death, and reduce the strain on our healthcare system, which means that we can now resume elective surgeries and postpone services. With vaccination, once we have enough of the population immunized and are able to effectively demonstrate a reduction in infection rates and hospitalizations, this means that we will be one step closer to restoring our economy, resuming some normalcy in our day to day lives, and spending time with our loved ones once again. The COVID-19 vaccinations that have been approved by Health Canada have been subject to the same rigorous testing and approval process as any other vaccine approved in this country. Many of these vaccines have already been administered to millions of people worldwide and continue to undergo intense safety monitoring.

Whether you have questions about your prescription medications, over-the-counter products, immunizations, or other health concerns, our pharmacists are here to help.
