What is the role of climate and sunlight in psoriasis?

Cold, dry environments tend to worsen most cases of psoriasis. In contrast, humid, warm climates may be helpful in controlling flare-ups. Sunlight tends to provide relief for psoriasis although it’s important to avoid sunburns. In temperate climates, where sunlight is not available all year, artificial ultraviolet light is frequently used in the treatment of psoriasis.
