How to pull off a powerful pink look

With vibrant lips, statement eyes and nails to match, this monochromatic pink look is fun and easy to replicate.

Summer’s warm weather has finally arrived, and the time feels right to try out a look that’s a little more...exciting. Think: bold lips, feathered brows and high-contrast eyeshadow. Here’s everything you need to replicate this pretty — and powerful — in pink look.

Start with your eyes

Since you’re working with highly pigmented formulas, start working on your eye makeup first, to avoid the messy cleanup of redoing your foundation or concealer if there’s any shadow fall-out. For eyes that stand out, begin by lining your upper lash line with a flick of Physicians Formula Matte Monoi Butter Eyeliner in black. You can create any shape that best suits your unique eye shape, be it a sharp cat eye or a simple tightline to give your lids some extra definition.

Dial up the shadow

Take a vibrant pink eyeshadow, like Revolution Forever Dynamic Eyeshadow Palette in “Ambient” and trace it along the bottom lash line. Pack the shadow on in light layers until the desired intensity is reached. Using the same shadow and a small brush, apply a wash of colour onto your eyelids. Make sure to use a light hand: a dash of colour here is all you need, and it shouldn’t compete with the striking pink hue on your lower lash line.

Add mega volume to lashes

Define your eyes with full, luscious eyelashes. First, curl the upper lashes and then apply two or three coats of L’Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara for major lift. Skip the lower lashes to keep the focus on the eyeshadow.

Go for fluffy brows

When it comes to brows, the fuller the better. Carefully brush on Maybelline Brow Fast Sculpt using short, upward strokes to create shape and definition and a natural fluffy texture that isn’t too precise.

Mattify the skin

Now you can move onto skin. Opt for a weightless powder foundation for a soft-focus finish, like L'Oréal Paris Infallible Up To 24H Fresh Wear in a Powder. You can build up coverage as needed but keep the skin’s natural texture peeking through.

Keep the blush natural

Blush is non-negotiable for any monochromatic look, but that doesn’t mean it has to look overdone. Using the Quo Beauty Cheek & Lip Multistick in “Desire,” apply the product directly onto cheeks, gently diffusing the colour with your fingertips for an effortless flush.

Match lips to nails!

Remember: You can never have too much hot pink! Add a juicy, lacquered effect to the lips with a slick of Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish in “Rule the World.” And to tie everything together, match your lips to your nails with a coat of Revlon Ultra HD Snap! Nail Polish in “Rule the World.”
